5 min read

Turkey's Mediterranean and Aegean coasts rival Greece for warmth and clarity. The Black Sea is cooler and wetter, with a shorter swimming season.

Month-by-month

  • May: 19–21°C on the Aegean and Mediterranean; Black Sea still cool.
  • June–September: 24–28°C on the south and west coasts; July and August are peak.
  • October: 22–25°C on the Mediterranean; one of the best months for quiet beaches.
  • November–April: south coast drops to 16–18°C; Black Sea is cold year-round.
