Egypt's Red Sea is one of the warmest bodies of water in the region and one of the best year-round snorkelling and diving destinations. The Mediterranean coast around Alexandria is cooler.
Month-by-month
- Year-round: Red Sea 23–29°C; perfect for long snorkelling sessions.
- June–August: 27–29°C; very warm but can be busy.
- March–May and September–November: 24–27°C, excellent visibility, fewer crowds.
- Mediterranean (Alexandria): 17–25°C, best July–September.
